Osseo Class of ’83 Reunion Takes Place Saturday

Also: Kick off fall and get rid of your unwanted electronics and sensitive documents.

Osseo Senior High School grads from the class of 1983 will be getting together for their 30-year reunion Saturday at Maple Tavern.

Entry costs $40. Doors open at 6 p.m. Appetizers will be served all night, and a cash bar is available. Walk-ins are welcome.

Chili Cook-off, Fun Events at Covenant Church Kickoff

Maple Grove Covenant Church is celebrating the new season with a Fall Kickoff on Sunday.

There will be hot air balloon rides, inspiring music, delicious food and a message of encouragement—in addition to an inflatable bounce house and face painting for the kids, a chili cook-off for the adults and a root-beer keg for everyone after the service. The winner of the chili cook-off will receive a $100 gift card.

An education hour for all ages starts at 9 a.m. Worship service takes place at 10:30 a.m. The chili cook-off lunch with Jimmy John's subs takes place at 11:45 a.m.

Get Rid of Your Unwanted Electronics

Boy Scout Troop 84 and nonprofit electronics recycler TechDump are partnering together Saturday to collect used electronics.

Residents can drop off unwanted electronics—gently used, obsolete or damaged— between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Maple Grove Rainbow parking lot (16401 County Road 30) or the Maple Grove Ethan Allen parking lot (11751 Fountains Way).

Accepted items include computers, cell phones, electrical cords, internal/external drives, other misc. electronic accessories, TVs and monitors. A $10 donation is requested for CRT TVs and monitors—non-flat panels. Click here for a full list of accepted items.

Free Shredding Event

While disposal is on your mind, why not get rid of any unwanted, but still sensitive, documents.

TruStone Financial is hosting a free shred day at its Maple Grove branch (7851 Elm Creek Blvd.) starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. Residents can have their documents securely shredded by the company’s mobile shred truck.
