Maple Grove Lutheran Offers ‘Drive Thru Pet Blessing’ Sunday

Also: Enjoy art, visit a health fair and go trap shooting with Republicans.

Maple Grove Lutheran Church is hosting its Second Annual Drive Thru Pet Blessing on Sunday.

The event offers a chance for pet owners to “give thanks for our pets, for their gifts of companionship, laughter, exercise, tenderness and healing,” according to the church.

The event takes place at noon in the parking lot of the church, located at 9251 Elm Creek Blvd.

The Skyline Art Crawl features work from more than local 20 artists. The event, sponsored by The Skyline Fine Arts Consortium, takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Saturday and Sunday at the Maple Grove Government Center (12800 Arbor Lakes Parkway in Maple Grove).

Lord of Life Lutheran Church (7401 County Road 101) is hosting a Community Health Fair from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Memorial Blood Center will be available for those who want to donate blood. Homeland Health will offer wellness screenings that include total cholesterol (non-fasting), blood glucose and blood pressure. Flu shots will also be available.

There will be health-related workshops, and the event will close with exercise sessions.

District 34 GOP to Host Trap Shoot

Republicans in Senate District 34—which includes the cities of Maple Grove, Rogers, Dayton and Osseo— are hosting an inaugural Second Amendment Saturday Trap Shoot Fundraiser.

The event is open to people of all skill levels—even those who’ve never fired a shotgun. It takes place at the Crow River Sportsman’s Club from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., located at 27101 Territorial Road in Rogers.
