Movies by Moonlight Brings ‘Cool Runnings’ to the Town Green
Also this weekend: Check out vendors at the Community Center, enjoy Kids' Health and Safety Day and meet the 'Larkspur' author.
This year’s Movies by Moonlight season continues Friday with Cool Runnings.
The series is part of free music, movies and entertainment at the Town Green. Movies kick off at sunset; Cool Runnings, rated PG, starts at 8:08 p.m.
Movies by Moonlight takes place Fridays through Sept. 13.

Other events happening this weekend:
- Community Center Shopping Event: Vendors will be at the Community Center starting at 10 a.m. Saturday to sell their wares. Vendors include 31 Bags, Mary Kay, Pink Zebra Candles, Premier Designs Jewelry, Tastefully Simple and handcrafted pottery.
- Kids’ Health and Safety Day: Trillium Chiropractic is hosting a back-to-school event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be complimentary food and drink, an inflatable jump house, kids games and prizes, face painting and balloon animals. The Maple Grove Fire Department and Police Department will offer tips on kids’ safety and responsible decision-making. Trillium will offer a $30 examination—and will waive the fee for those who bring $30 worth of supplies for the company’s school-supplies drive. The examination include a complete history, consultation, exam and thermal imaging study.
- Anastacia Hawkins Book Signing: Hawkins, the author of Larkspur and Return to Larkspur, will be signing books at 1 p.m. Saturday at The Studio at Rush Creek.
