Shrub Starts Fire at High Grove Home

No one was hurt in the three-alarm fire that started late Tuesday afternoon.

A shrub that started on fire late Tuesday afternoon led to a house fire so hot it melted siding on a neighboring home, Maple Grove Fire Chief Scott Anderson said.

The fire spread from a shrub outside a High Grove Residential Neighborhood home up and across into the home’s attic. Two people inside at the time were able to get out safely.

The Maple Grove Fire Department received the call at 4:02 p.m., and four of the city’s five stations headed to the 11500 block of 84th Place—near Weaver Lake Road and Forest View Lane—to fight the fire.

In addition, Anoka-Champlin, Brooklyn Park, Osseo and Plymouth fire departments responded, as well as North Memorial.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
