Kid in a cage

My son and I worked on this costume for about 4 months. Everything was built up from nothing. The only part of the costume purchased was the gorilla suit which we bought on clearance the year before after Halloween was done. The center bars on the cage are foam carved into bars and painted. The tops and bottoms of the cage are foam board. The base of the frame is pvc pipe. The support for the gorilla includes a backpack hidden under my sons outer red shirt and paracord tied in the areas needing support.  There was a light attached up top for nighttime so you could see Tommy clearly. Lastly there is a mannequin head mounted to the frame that keeps the gorilla head stable and allows for that look of real eyes inside. We had a great time making this costume!
