New Business: Hockey Performance Center Opens in Maple Grove

The new hockey training resource center is located in the same building as North Maple Grove Chiropractic.

Winter isn’t the only season for hockey.

In June 2013, Hockey Performance Center opened in Maple Grove as a new training resource center for athletes.

Owner and head trainer Greg Petersen not only grew up in Maple Grove, but also played hockey at the professional level in the Canadian Hockey League and currently coaches. The idea for the business started Petersen realized he wanted to stay involved in the game of hockey.

“The city of Maple Grove is a great hockey city, and there is nothing like this in the area. Hockey Performance Center wanted to create a place where kids can train, and parents can receive care at the same time,” Petersen said.

Hockey Performance Center is located in the same building as North Maple Grove Chiropractic at 9505 Blackoaks Lane North. Dr. Greg Petersen is a licensed Chiropractor that specializes in treating athletes, according to the Hockey Performance Center website. Dr. John Petersen has been a chiropractor in the Twin Cities area for over 35 years.

“We recently expanded and renovated our office to accommodate this excited new journey,” Petersen said.

When it comes to hockey specific training, age isn’t a factor.

Our facility is equipped with a brand new skating treadmill, as well as rehab and exercise equipment. We also offer chiropractic care and massage therapy under the same roof,” Petersen said.
