When Whole Foods opens in Maple Grove, the nearby parking ramp will be utilized for the expected increase in cars.
Summer months will bring a large influx of cars to The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes. And with Whole Foods Market shooting to move into the old Ultimate Electronics site in July, some Maple Grove residents think parking will become a problem. When Patch published a Whole Foods construction update article, reader Simply Red expressed excitement for the new store, but also had reservations about where cars will park. Parking will be a SERIOUS problem in that location though. It is impossible to find a parking spot already with only Trader Joe's and Rodizio Grill. A completion date has been tentatively scheduled for the new natural and organic foods supermarket.
In preparation for building reconstruction, fencing has been placed around the former Ultimate Electronics site at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes. In its place, Whole Foods Market is making progress toward moving in. The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes turned over the former Ultimate Electronics property to Whole Foods in October 2012, according to Marketing Director Jennifer Zafft. The women’s clothing and accessories store is located at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes.
Customers of Bluebird Boutique in Maple Grove will soon have to travel to the Edina location or look online for their purchases. The shop, located at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove, will be closing its doors as of Oct. 31, 2012, according to store manager Carol Werness, who said the traffic was “not enough” to keep the Maple Grove location open. Bluebird Boutique has been in Maple Grove for three years, according to the Ali Shops blog. Werness said through Oct. 31, merchandise is about 50-70 percent off at the Maple Grove store, with all sales finals and no returns. On Thursday, October 4, The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes will host its 4th annual Girls Night Out to benefit Hope Chest for Breast Cancer. The event will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Girls Night Out will include live entertainment by steel drum band 33 Degrees North, complimentary appetizers and a photo booth. Attendees will also receive a gift bag with discounts and special offers from Arbor Lakes’ stores and restaurants. They can also enter to win a $1,000 Shoppes Shopping Spree from The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes and TWIN CITIES LIVE. The cost to attend Girls Night Out is $10 per person. All of the proceeds from the event will benefit Hope Chest for Breast Cancer, which is an organization providing funding for emergency financial support…
