A formerly bare corner of Dunkirk Shopping Center in Maple Grove is getting new life as new businesses move in. A new restaurant could be in the future for the area if it passes planning commission and city council approval.
Updated article Sept. 30 According to the Oct. 10 Maple Grove Planning Commission agenda, new business will be heard about a request from White Castle Restaurant for a "PUD Development Stage Plan for the purpose of constructing a 2,550 square foot White Castle Restaurant on the northwest corner of the Dunkirk Square Commercial Development." The Maple Grove Planning Commission is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 in the Government Center. This 7,770 square foot facility is the latest business to build near the former Target building off of County Road 30 in Maple Grove.
In an area that used to be the parking lot for the former SuperTarget building, Discount Tire is building a new store in Maple Grove. The 7,770 square foot retail business is scheduled to be completed and open in October 2011, according to Discount Tire representative Mark Thuman. Discount Tire has more than 790 stores in 23 states and is considered an independent multi-brand tire and wheel retailer. The business will be the latest addition to the retail center known as the Dunkirk Shopping Center at Dunkirk Lane and County Road 30 in Maple Grove.
