New Maple Grove business Nadia Cakes Cupcake Shop, Custom Cake Studio opened its doors on Sunday, July 8. In what was described as a “soft” opening on the Nadia Cakes Facebook page, a line into the new shop was reportedly steady throughout the day on Sunday. Located at The Fountains at Arbor Lakes, 11650 Fountains Drive in Maple Grove, Nadia Cakes will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday, July 9 and from noon to 5 p.m. July 10-14. Regular business hours start Sunday, July 15 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The store, which has been on TLC's "Fabulous Cakes" and won the Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars” earlier this year, will be having their grand opening event on Thursday, July 26 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with $1 cupcakes available (limit one per person) …

Nadia Cakes owner Abby Jimenez, who has been on TLC's "Fabulous Cakes" and won Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars”, will soon be opening Nadia Cakes in the Twin Cities. She joins us as this week’s Patch Pro for some cupcake and custom cake conversation.

The founder of the California-based business, CEO/Executive Chef Abby Jimenez, has appeared on TLC's Fabulous Cakes and appeared on and won the Food Network's Cupcake Wars earlier this year. The cupcakes are very good and fresh! Greta to have a specialty bakery shoppe here however my only concern is, I'm not sure IF the area will support the high pricing of the cupcakes and cakes???? I hope they make it!!!! Maybe having days w/cupcake specials, etc.... will help the business thrive with the locals. more ›
