I don't have a problem with the tenderness, or the moisture content of this meat. I have a problem with the smoke content. I have had their ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and pastrami, and none of them had any smoke flavor. We want more smoke!!! It seems like people in Minnesota don't care about smoke flavor.

Also, every time the meat has been cold or barely warm. That is fine, if you are going to bring it home and reheat it. I know, I could bring it back up to the counter and they would gladly microwave it for me, but should I have to do that every time?

Paulie, if the brisket was chewy could have been the burnt ends they have a higher fat content and it is possible for them to be chewy. Chopped brisket in my opinion means it is over cooked, that is why we only offer sliced. You are correct about the beans they are bushes best baked beans, we do however add rib meat, pork butt, roasted veggies, seasonings and other ingredients to them and then smoke. Our breads are baked for us from a local bakery. I am here every day, we try to greet and thank every customer that comes threw our door, and ask how they liked everything, being a new place I am always looking for feed back as to better ourselves. I am sorry I missed you, stop back in so we can discuss your concerns.
thanks Dave Z

I think the first two reviews must be"friends" of the family. The meat has no flavor and the beef is chewy to ruff for the brisket. Should offer both chopped and sliced brisket but they don't. Beans taste like they are out of a can and the bread taste like it was frozzen not fresh.

Where to begin!

After being forced to consume sub par barbacue from the likes of Famous Dave's and Dickey's, we FINALLY have a true BBQ joint in Maple Grove. I was lucky enough to sample Z's Smokin Bonez at the Smokin and Steele Festival in Owatonna earlier this year and was blown away. Their pork ribs have a subtle pecan flavor and are a dry rubbed rib. There was a good pull to the meat, wern't overly tender and had a great smokey flavor.

In my opinion, this type of ribs stands on it's own and does not need sauce. But, if you prefer sauced ribs, I would recommend their Tempered BBQ or Sweet and Sassy. They are both awesome.

I would almost consider eating their baked beans as a meal on it's own, lots of flavor and heartiness. I loved the pork and rib meat, excellent additions. Believe it or not but one of their best sellers is their jerky. Try it and you'll see why.

I am excited to go back and try the Whole Hog Hoagie. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was unique, lots of local art (paintings and sculptures) on display.

Thanks for setting up shop in M.G., I hope you guys stick around! :-)
