The outdoor patio is wonderful and the food is great!

We love coming here in the summer time with the kids to enjoy the outdoor patio. Great place to unwind with live music and the broasted chicken is the bomb!

We have been going to the Lookout for 14 years. It is our favorite place to go, and they have become family to us. We have met so many people, and had great times. There is always something going on. They are so active in the community from hosting benefits, to supporting a host of other charities. We play volleyball on Thursdays, so that has been a fun addition to their event calendar. The patio is the best in the area, and it is a great place to bring your kids! They also have great bands on the weekends.

My wife and I eat there often and always enjoy the company and great food, and the newly renevated patio is the place to be on a nice day. Plus there is volleyball and horseshoes, and a playground for the kids!

My wife and I are regulars at the Lookout. I travel around the country for business on a weekly basis and the Lookout is absolutely one of the best community restaurants in the country - something for everyone. We love dining on the patio in the summer; the monthly wine dinners during the winter; the fundraising events that the owners sponsor; a casual lunch or dinner and, on nights when we are busy - the absolute best broasted chicken to-go. Always consistent! One of my new favorites is the Manhattan Sirloin Steak. I love the fact that this business is family owned and they really CARE about their customers and their community. Great food at competitive prices. Support local businesses like the Lookout. It is definitely worth it! Dan

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the wine dinners The Lookout host's once a month. I always learn something new. The new wine's usually become a favorite at home - most can be bought at a local wine & spirits store that's very Princetonly :)
I also like to head over to the Lookout to listen to some of my favorite bands. It's fun and the appetizer's are great!!
My kids like the patio and I have to say, I like each and every time I go there!
Thanks Mike and Brenda for all you do!!!!!!

In the 25+ years I have lived in Maple Grove, I have eaten there twice. Both times I said never again with the last time being this past summer. I thought after so many years maybe it had improved. It had not. One time in between our two dining disasters, we opted to try it again but service was so bad we just left and spent our $ elsewhere. It seems to be a nice place for the locals to hang at the bar but since we're not into hanging at the bar and the food as it is...NEVER AGAIN and I mean it this time, no more chances.

The Lookout Bar & Grill responded:

Pat we are very sorry for the way you feel. Here at the Look

I had the 'steak bites' and they were really good. It's also a great local spot to meet your friends!

We always have a great experience at the Lookout! The food is good and reasonably priced, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. In my opinion, its also the best place in the area to hold a private party. Our family has hosted many events there over the years - my rehearsal dinner, my dad's retirement party and even my grandma's 80th birthday birthday - she loves the broasted chicken! Thanks, Lookout, for always being there for us!

Before Maple Grove, MN was the home to every chain-restaurant known to man, the locals were regulars at “The Lookout”. You can still play pull-tabs, listen to a band, or work up the nerve to try karaoke. The restaurant donates money to back to local schools on fund-raising nights and local couples (including two of my friends) have even had the restaurant cater their wedding receptions.

Before writing this review, I took a peek at the online reviews to see what other people were saying about The Lookout food. Known for their chicken dinners and bottomless lunch buffet (don’t be surprised to see the local teamsters union in a booth next to a bunch of suits and ties), you can find traditional burgers and fries as well as a salad bar with iceberg next to mixed greens.

What I was not surprised to find, however, was a common love for the backyard patio. Encased in a fenced-area, the backyard patio has volley ball courts, horse shoe pits, a fire-pit, tables under a giant oak tree, and (drum roll for all the moms) a playground structure. Why every restaurant in the world has not adopted this idea, is completely beyond me. Kids can’t finish the meals delivered on a take-home Frisbee plate fast enough (the “greenest” plate in town). While the self-entertainment is happening, parents enjoy a glass of beer or wine. I never worry about getting a sun burn, as the oak tree favors those of us without pigment in our skin!
