Meet Authors of Children's Books This Weekend
Three things to do in the Twin Cities area include a comedy show by Bob Newhart and a gallery show of glass artwork.
Jill Kalz, author of “No Snow for Christmas,” and author Kevin Kling and illustrator Chris Monroe of “Big Little Mother” will be at the Red Balloon Bookshop on Saturday, Nov. 23. The bookstore is located at 891 Grand Ave., St. Paul, MN. Kalz will be at Red Balloon at 10:30 a.m. Kling and Monroe will be there at 2 p.m. There will be book signings and refreshments.

The star of “The Bob Newhart Show” and “Newhart” and recent Emmy winner will be at the State Theatre at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22. The State Theatre is located at 805 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN. Tickets are $48.50 to $58.50.

The Phipps Center for the Arts, 109 Locust St., Hudson, WI, will host the glass works of more than 20 artists from Nov. 22, 2013, to Jan. 5, 2014. There will be a reception for the gallery opening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the center.
