Bring Man’s Best Friend to ‘Woofstock’

Also: Be true to your school at Maple Grove and Osseo homecoming, and run the Arbor Dash.

Dog lovers will have a chance to grab some must-haves for their furry family members Saturday while helping Good Karma Animal Rescue of MN.

The inaugural Woofstock event will have:

  • Vendor booths offering information and activities for dog owners,
  • Photo booth presented by CL!X,
  • Food vendors,
  • Doggie Fine Art and Dog Food Tasting Bar presented by Whole Foods,
  • Complimentary face painting and balloon artist for children and
  • Special savings and offers from participating The Shoppes retailers and restaurants.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes. Admission is $5 for adults. Kids younger than 12 can enter free with a paying adult. One hundred percent of the admission will go to Good Karma.

Vaccinated and leashed dogs are welcome. Organizers ask dog owners not to use retractable leashes at the event.

The Teddy Bear Band will play from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Kidsdance DJs will spin from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. And Sounds of Lennon and McCartney will entertain from noon until 2 p.m.

Celebrate Maple Grove and Osseo Homecoming

Homecoming festivities for both Maple Grove and Osseo culminate this weekend.

The Maple Grove Royalty Coronation and Pepfest will be at 1:10 p.m. Friday in the gymnasium. Family and friends are welcome. Maple Grove plays Anoka in the Homecoming football game at 7 p.m.

For Osseo, the Homecoming Pepfest takes place from 1:20 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. The Orioles will then play Andover at 7 p.m. in the Homecoming football game.

 

Run the Arbor Dash

Enjoy a run and partner with the Early Childhood Parent Advisory Council at the inaugural Arbor Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk and 1K Kids Race.

The dash takes place Saturday at the Maple Grove Arboretum Park (9400 Fernbrook Lane). The race begins at 9 a.m. for the kids race and 9:30 a.m. for the 5K

Dean-O-Mite Entertainment will provide music during the race. There will be post-race refreshments and awards. All 1K runners will receive a prize. For the 5K, the top three runners overall and the top three men and women in each age group will receive awards.
