Firehouse Subs and No School: This Week in Maple Grove

Osseo Area Schools, and the majority of school districts in the state, have cancelled school on Monday, Jan. 27.
Classes will not be held and the buildings will be closed. All after-school and evening activities, including parent/teacher conferences, are also canceled. Plan to have your student return to school on Tuesday unless you receive additional notice, the district said in a release.
The National Weather Service expects a high on Monday near -9 and wind chill values as low as -43, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Firehouse Subs Opens Monday
Firehouse Subs, a fast-casual restaurant with over 700 locations, is opening on Monday, Jan. 27 in Maple Grove.Local owner Jamshid Fehresti has located the sub shop at 11649 Fountains Drive. The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Legislative Coffee Series
The North Hennepin Area Chamber of Commerce GovernmentAffairs Committee is once again hosting a Legislative Coffee Series for the 2014 Legislative Session. This series of meetings will be the last Friday of each month as follows from January through April, with a Legislative Wrap-Up session in May. The first meeting is Friday, Jan. 31.
The Chamber will invite members of the local business community to attend, encourage them to ask questions, and provide input pertaining to the bills legislators are considering during this session that affect our local businesses.
These meetings will start at 7:30 a.m. and run for about an hour at Rasmussen College in Brooklyn Park.
