Photos: Winners Announced from 2013 Maple Grove Days 40 Winks Bed Race

This year 22 beds were donated to CROSS and additionally $450 was raised to purchase bedding for those in need.

The Maple Grove Days Bed Race Committee recently announce the winners of 2013 sixth annual 40 Winks Bed Race, presented by the Maple Grove Rotary.  This year 22 beds were donated to CROSS, and additionally $450 was raised to purchase bedding for those in need.

The fastest bed award went to Henningson & Snoxell. Holding the record for the most creative year after year is Z’s Smokin’ Bonez. Best spirit is Kalla Lily and most funds raised, Seeds to Seedings Day Care.  

"Special thanks to the Maple Grove Rotary for organizing the bed race committee, Maple Grove Covenant for designing the race and the Maple Grove Community Organization for allowing the bed race to be a part of Maple Grove Days events," the Maple Grove Days Bed Race Committee said in a release.

All prizes awarded to the racers, was then donated to the 40 Winks Foundation.

Before the race began during Maple Grove Days in July, the beds promenaded around the track, Color Guard Boy Scout Pack 84, and Chuck Skajewski sang the National Anthem acappella. Pump It Up provided PA system and the basket ball game for the race.  The Maple Grove Ambassadors assisted in selecting the bed race winners.
