Do You Care About the Royal Baby?

Find out how Maple Grove residents responded when we asked them that question.

Media from around the world has been gathered outside the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in London for days. On Monday morning, news broke: The Princess of Cambridge was in "the early stages of labor."

We took to Facebook to ask Maple Grove Patch readers this question: "How do you feel about the royal baby? Are you excited or could you not care less?"

The answers to the question turned into a discussion about the British monarchy and idolatry. Huh, you say? Read on:

John Quast:
I am probably not the target market for this question.

Jeffrey Hendel:
Don't Care!!

Michele Monfils:
I think the whole monarchy thing is stupid. But I would not mind being Queen.

David Klover:
its nice they can start a new family ... like the rest of us do!

Cathy Bailey:
Very excited! I've even watched the webcam of the hospital door. I also got up at 3am to watch the wedding.

Kelley Gjere:
It's a baby and like ALL babies should be celebrated as such. I think the hoopla over how SPECIAL this one is compared to any other is idolatry and sad. All babies are special no matter who gives birth to them, imagine a world that celebrated every birth like this one.

Sher Monfore:
What will be will be. It is fun to watch, tho.

Lorna Jordahl Horpedahl:
I could care less, but a very special little girl was born at 12:58am today. Congrats to the Erlien Famiy!

Cheri Steiner:
What royal baby;-) ?

Sher Monfore:
Yup! A royal little boy. 8#6oz!

Brian Tix:
don't care, but most of the American news media does. The Brits don't care much.

Greg Smith:
I'm pretty excited.

Greg Smith:
Yeah for the royal fetus! Lol

If you care, the as-yet-unnamed Prince of Cambridge was born at 4:24 p.m. BST (10:24 a.m. CDT), according toClarence House. He weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces.

Once they decide on a name for the little prince, you can check to see how popular it has been in Minnesota since 1910 by searching the above database.
