Osseo Falls To Totino-Grace 34-33 In State Quarterfinal

Maple Grove's football season has also ended.

The Orioles lost a heart breaker in their first appearance at the state football tournament in 19 years.

The Osseo Senior High football team lost to Totino-Grace 34-33 on Friday night in the 6A state quarterfinals.

State Tournament Summary from the Minnesota State High School League:
Osseo's Matt Miedtke's pass on a two point conversion fell incomplete allowing Totino-Grace to advance to the Class 6A semifinals. Osseo scored on Jaimen 
Hampton's 12-yard run with 1:05 remaining in the game to get within one point, at 34-33. The Orioles chose not to go for the tie by kicking, deciding to go for the victory only to come up short.

The Eagles overcame three costly turnovers, and several major penalties in the win. Eagle's running back Carlton Djam fumbled twice, one just inches from the goal line. Totino Grace got three touchdowns from Lance Benick, two rushing and one via pass. Quarterback Seth Sullowold threw for three touchdowns in the win. Totiino Grace will face Eden Prairie next Friday night.

Maple Grove's football season also ended this weekend. Roseville beat the Crimson on Thursday night in the state quarterfinals, 24-21.
