The Maple Grove Triathlon: Dare to Tri 2012 has been sold out and more than 1,200 racers are expected to take part in the event in Maple Grove Saturday, Aug. 25 at Weaver Lake Park.

Here’s a few things to know prior to race day:

• Parking - Spectators can park at and take a complimentary shuttle bus to where they'll walk to the park from there. “We encourage spectators to visit the race to see it live and in action,” said Lindsey Kurhajetz, founder and race director.  Participants can be dropped off at the upper lot entrance.

• Times to Know - Participants and spectators are invited to attend a Sports Expo 3-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at Weaver Lake Park. The Sports Expo will also be going on during the race starting at 7 a.m.  For spectators, the race starts at approximately 7 a.m. until the awards ceremony at 11 a.m. Participating athletes can find specific arrival, warm-up and race time on the Maple Grove Triathlon website.

• Participants  - Triathlon participants can pickup their packets during the Sports Expo on Friday. Athletes can also pickup their packets between 5 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. Saturday morning.

• The Course - Athletes will take part in one of two course distances – the Dare to Sprint and The Olympic Dare. The swimming portion takes place at Weaver Lake Park. The biking and running portions will start and end in Weaver Lake Park, but take athletes on a predetermined course throughout the city.
