124 Maple Grove Runners Finish Twin Cities Marathon

The 2013 marathon took place in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Maple Grove had 124 runners among the 8,852 who finished the 26.2-mile 2013 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Sunday.

Jeff Kjome was fastest among Maple Grove men. The 45-year-old’s time of 2:59:58 was 259th overall, 218th out of the 4,920 men in the race and 15th among  the 546 runners in the men’s 45-49 division.

Sarah McClellan was the first Maple Grove woman to cross the finish line. The 42-year-old’s time of 3:19:59 was 710th overall, 127 out of the 3,929 women in the race and 14th among the 487 runners in the women’s 40-44 division.

Mark Gray, at 63, was the oldest Maple Grove runner to finish. His time of 5:17:02 was 7,923rd overall. He was 4,543rd among men in the race and 111th in the men’s 60-64 division.

Arizona resident Nick Arciniaga won the 2013 Twin Cities Marathon men’s race with a time of 2:13:11, according to a StarTribune.com report. Former Minnesota resident Annie Bersagel won the woman’s title with a time of 2:30:52.

The race began near the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis and finished at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul.
