Osseo Schools Closed Monday, Jan. 27

Students at Osseo Schools will have their third day off due to dangerous wind chills this year.

Due to the forecast of severe weather with dangerous wind chills, the district will be closed again on Monday, Jan. 27.

Classes will not be held and the buildings will be closed. All after-school and evening activities, including parent/teacher conferences, are also canceled.

Plan to have your student return to school on Tuesday unless you receive additional notice, the district said in a release.

The National Weather Service expects a high on Monday near -9 and wind chill values as low as -43. It will be blustery, with a west northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday's forecast calls for a high of -3 and a wind chill of -40.

The schools haven't said at what point they will have to make up days at the end of the year.

By Sunday night, both the Minnesota State Patrol and MnDOT advised no travel in southern and western Minnesota. All highways in the south central and southwestern portion of the state are closed.
