Maple Grove Senior High School Students Recognized for Theatrical Work

A musical theater program created by The Hennepin Theater Trust draws attention to local student performers.

Theatrical students from Maple Grove Senior High School were recently honored by the Hennepin Theatre Trust through the nonprofit's Spotlight Musical Theatre Program.

In a December statement, representatives from the Hennepin Theatre Trust announced fall 2012 honorees. Maple Grove Senior High School was selected for the program for the school’s work on last year's "Urinetown: The Musical."

SpotLight is an educational initiative that aims to support and advocate for Minnesota high school musical theatre students and programs, according to the statement.

Students from Maple Grove Senior High School, along with performers from 56 other schools, will be recognized at Spotlight’s showcase event next June at the Orpheum Theater. Tickets for the event will be available beginning Feb. 20.
