Maple Grove Basketball Players Give Back With Holiday Service Project

The Crimson team assembled fruit baskets to donate to local food shelf.

The Crimson varsity boys basketball team kicked off their season with a holiday service project.

On Dec. 2, the team gathered with bags of fruit and food in hand. The purpose was not to load up themselves, but instead, to assemble fruit and food baskets which will be donated to a local food shelf.  This is the second year the team has assembled the baskets.

"Being part of a high school basketball program is a privilege. This is just one small way the team can reciprocate," stated Darrell Olson, Booster Club President.

Those players participating included Jake Wieneke, James Morris, Brycen Wojta, Jacob Bjorklund, Grant Kaufman, Joey Eng, Brandon Barta, John Fox, Nick Mielke, Austin Paul, Erik Olson, Dan Lochner, Jake Sterling, Brian Fotso, Dan Butorac and Tyler Barker.
