Elm Creek Students Give Back

Sixth graders packed food and raised money for the Feed My Starving Children organization.

Sixth graders at in Maple Grove recently packed meals at Feed My Starving Children.

It is the fourth consecutive year students at the Maple Grove school volunteered for the effort in which they hand-packed meals specifically formulated for malnourished children worldwide.

Inspired by the service project, sixth graders Sierra Ahlt and Katelyn Scherping proposed an all school fundraiser for Feed My Starving Children. They recruited classmates to make posters, collect and count money, staff a table at the school carnival and promote the project on Elm Creek TV. The fundraiser raised more than $900, which will provide more than 4,000 meals.
