30 Students Earn 'Star Student' Awards

More than 30 local students were recognized for their standout achievements at the Star Student Awards presented by the Business Education Partnership Committee of North Hennepin Area Chamber of Commerce. Representatives from local businesses, high schools and the community-at-large participate in the committee, who select the award recipients.

Juniors and seniors were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the one of following areas: Career Advancement, Employment and Volunteerism.  Students were nominated and selected based on their applications and letter of recommendations. 

CAREER ADVANCEMENT

This award recognizes career exploration through job shadowing, internships, or externships. Recipients include:

·      Maple Grove Senior High: Casey Autey and Anna Bushen

·      Osseo Senior High: Nicholas Holien, David Jedynak, and Nancy Lira-Hernandez

·      Park Center Senior High: Jah Ia Yang

·      Brooklyn Center Senior High: Tshura Holmes

EMPLOYMENT SKILLS

This award recognizes a student's success in his or her work experience. Recipients include:

·      Maple Grove Senior High: Noah Lindgren and Carmen Tso

·      Osseo Area Learning Center: Albin Voinarousky.

·      Osseo Senior High: Ryan Lynch

·      Park Center Senior High: Nathaniel Akouete, Minh-Chi Danh Le, Marissa Scarborough, and Pazong Thor

·      Brooklyn Center Senior High: Martin Luna-Martinez

VOLUNTEERISM

This award recognizes volunteer efforts of a student in their school and community. Recipients include:

·      Osseo Area Learning Center: Vica Potter
