Westbound County Road 81 Lanes Reopen in Maple Grove

Roadway could be fully reopened in both directions the week of June 20, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT).

The westbound lanes of County Road 81, between Elm Creek Boulevard and Fernbrook Lane in Maple Grove, reopened Friday, June 17, according to MnDOT.

One lane of eastbound County Road 81 remains closed. MnDOT said it is “tentatively scheduled” to reopen the week of June 20.

County 81 has been closed down to one lane in each direction for several weeks to “maintain motorist safety” while crews cleaned up the roadway and restructured a stockpile in the Highway 610 project area. The stockpile had failed at the end of May after heavy rainfall and storms caused a mudslide on and near County Road 81.
