Weekend Road Work Might Cause Delays for Maple Grove Motorists

Here is a list of some of the projects, as outlined by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), that might affect Maple Grove motorists the weekend of June 3 through June 6 and how to get around them.

Interstate 494 eastbound exit ramp closure June 3

The Interstate 494 eastbound exit ramp 26 (Bass Lake Road) is closed due to road maintenance work in progress. The closure is expected to be done Friday, June 3 about 2:30 p.m.

Highway 610/Highway 169 ramp closing June 3-4

Expect possible delays and a detour at 10 p.m. Friday, June 3 when the ramp from westbound Highway 610 to northbound Highway 169 closes, according to MnDOT. During the closure drivers will be detoured north on West Broadway Avenue/County Road 103 to 109th Avenue and west to Highway 169.  The ramp will reopen by 5 p.m. Saturday, June 4.

The closure is part of work being done for the new alignment project includes nearly three miles of four-lane highway between Highway 169 in Brooklyn Park and County Road 81 in Maple Grove. Construction is scheduled to be complete in July 2011.

Interstate 94- Ongoing

Non-rush hour lane closures are expected on Interstate 94 between Interstate 494 in Maple Grove and Exit 205 in St. Michael until July 8. According to MnDOT, the road is being repaired and resurfaced and will be reduced to one or two lanes as needed until early July.

County Road 81 - Ongoing

Eastbound County Road 81 is scheduled to reopen to a single lane as of 6 p.m. Friday, June 3. Westbound in Maple Grove between Elm Creek Boulevard and Fernbrook Lane remains open to a single lane of traffic, according to MnDOT.

Crews are still working in the area after a late May .
