Viewfinder: Bass Lake Road Bridge

Road work continues on the Bass Lake Road (County Road 10) westbound bridge over Elm Creek in Maple Grove.

The Bass Lake Road reconstruction project is "moving along fine," according to Maple Grove City Engineer Ken Ashfeld in his update at the Aug. 15 Maple Grove City Council meeting.

The project is in the bridge building phase, Ashfled said. During this phase of the project, traffic on Bass Lake Road over Elm Creek (between Lawndale and Nottingham Parkway) has been moved back onto the temporary bypass over the creek while the westbound bridge over the creek is being constructed. According to the city website, traffic will remain on the bypass until approximately Nov. 2011 when the  westbound bridge over the creek is constructed.

Traffic in both directions on Bass Lake Road will move to the new bridge during the winter of 2011 and part of the summer of 2012 while the eastbound bridge is constructed.
