Northwest Metro Road Construction Report: June 14-17

Looking to avoid road construction on your way out of town? Here are several areas of road construction taking place in the northwest metro

Here is a list of some of the projects, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), Hennepin County and area cities, which might impact motorists traveling through the northwest metro for the weekend of June 14-17, 2012

Interstate 94 westbound

Road reconstruction is taking place between County Road 19 in Albertville and State Highway 241 near St. Michael with one lane closed.

Highway 12

Motorists will experience delays and a weekend closure on Highway 12 between just west of Old Crystal Bay Road and Wayzata Boulevard West in Long Lake, Orono and Wayzata as a project to add centerline rumple strips and restripe the roadway begins 8 p.m. Friday, June 15, according to MnDOT.

The work will occur during a weekend closure of Highway 12. Highway 12 will be closed in both directions between County Road 6/6th Avenue N. and Wayzata Boulevard from 8 p.m. Friday, June 15 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 18. During the closure a posted detour will direct motorists to use County Road 6/6th Avenue N. and Wayzata Boulevard to bypass the closure.

Highway 109/Weaver Lake Road

Work continues on County Road 109/Weaver Lake Road between Main Street in Maple Grove and 85th Avenue in Brooklyn Park. Delays are anticipated until construction completion July 2013.

Bass Lake Road / County Road 10

Road reconstruction continues on Bass Lake Road in Maple Grove. The speed limit in the construction area has been reduced to 35 miles per hour.

Highway 55

Road closed on State Highway 55 in both directions between County Road 92/Dogwood Street and County Road 19 in Medina. Expect delays. Major reconstruction expected until July 31.
