Maple Grove Weekend Road Work Report: June 24-26

Here is a list of some of the projects, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), that might affect Maple Grove motorists the weekend of June 24-26.

Interstate 94

Non-rush hour lane closures are expected on Interstate 94 between Interstate 494 in Maple Grove and Exit 205 in St. Michael until July 8. According to MnDOT, the road is being repaired and resurfaced and will be reduced to one or two lanes as needed until early July.

Highway 169

Southbound Highway 169 will have a lane closure starting 8 p.m. June 24 and will reopen by 5 p.m. Saturday, June 24. The closure on southbound Highway 169 will be between 101st Avenue and 93rd Avenue. The closure is part of the Highway 610/Highway 169 interchange work in Brooklyn Park.

Bridge construction is in process, which could affect traffic in both directions between 77th Avenue North in Maple Grove (exit 138) and 93rd Avenue North in Brooklyn Park. According to MnDOT, motorists should expect long-term construction work in the area until July 21. The transportation agency states  “bypasses and possible daytime lane closures may remain in effect as work continues.” The work is part of the Highway 169 Triangle Project.

Zachary Lane

As part of the Highway 610 project, Zachary Lane remains closed from 98th Avenue to south of 95th Place during the construction of a new interchange at Highway 610 and Zachary Lane. 

According to MnDOT, the closure is expected to continue through early July. The official detour around the closure is as follows: 

• Southbound: East on 109th Avenue to Highway 169, south to County Road 81 and west to Zachary Lane

• Northbound: East on County Road 81 to Highway 169, north to 109th Avenue and west to Zachary Lane
