Maple Grove Weekend Road Work Report: July 29-July 31

If you are heading out of town this weekend or taking a drive around town, there are several areas of roadwork you might want to avoid in and around Maple Grove.

Here is a list of some of the major roadway projects, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and the city of Maple Grove, which might affect Maple Grove motorists the weekend of July 29 to July 31.

Highway 169

“Major road construction” work is in progress on Highway 169 between County Road 81 and 85th Avenue North (Brooklyn Park), according to MnDOT. The work is expected to continue until Saturday, Aug. 20.

MnDOT reports the ramp from County Road 81 to northbound Highway 169 is closed. Traffic for Highway 169 remains on southbound lanes during the northbound land construction. Intermittent lane closures are expected.

The construction is part of the Highway 169 Triangle project.

Road reconstruction continues on Bass Lake Road in Maple Grove. The speed limit in the construction area has been reduced to 35 miles per hour. Motorists were advised this week of a on Bass Lake Road over Elm Creek, between Lawndale Lane and Nottingham Parkway.

Highway 610

Road construction work is “in progress” for the Highway 610 project. A July 22 update from MnDOT indicated paving has begun for the project and expected to “wrap up” in August. The new Hwy 610 extension will be a 2.74-mile long, four-lane highway from Hwy 169 in Brooklyn Park to County Road 81 in Maple Grove.
