It's Maple Grove's First Earth Day as a 'GreenStep City'

The city voluntarily joined the statewide program in December 2012.

Maple Grove is one of 54 Minnesota cities to have signed up as a "GreenStep City," vowing to strive toward environmental sustainability.

The city's membership became official in December 2012, with a resolution that talked about moving "energy self-reliance," "environmentally healthy and cheaper-to-operate public buildings," and "local food and renewable energy production." (See PDF.)
