Intercity Bus Stop Starts Soon in Maple Grove

Maple Grove and Jefferson Lines agree to setup a intercity bus stop at Parkway Transit Station.

Bus service from rural communities to Maple Grove will soon be starting as a result of an agreement between the city and Jefferson Lines.

A recent agreement established a new intercity bus stop at the Parkway Transit Station. Parkway Station is Maple Grove Transit’s newest facility located at 9870 Maple Grove Parkway. The intercity service is expected to start around Sept. 1, 2011.

Intercity bus service is defined as regularly scheduled bus service for the general public which operates with limited stops over fixed routes connecting two or more urban areas not in close proximity, according to the Maple Grove’s city website. The intercity bus service provides room for baggage, “which makes meaningful connections with scheduled intercity bus service to more distant points, if such service is available,” the city website said.
