Featured Event: Highway 610 Ribbon Cutting

A public ribbon cutting ceremony will be Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. to celebrate the completion of the Highway 610 extension project.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. on the new Highway 610 freeway at the Zachary Lane Bridge. The program will begin at 2:30 p.m. and includes remarks from dignitaries and a ceremonial ribbon cutting and photograph.

Other event attractions include classic cars, fire trucks, a children’s chalk drawing art contest, and a chance to walk/bike a small segment of the new freeway.

The new Highway 610 alignment includes nearly three miles of four-lane freeway between Highway 169 in Brooklyn Park and County Road 81 in Maple Grove. The official open date for the roadway is set for Aug. 19.
