Construction Season Starts on Bass Lake Road

It's the final road construction season for the Bass Lake Road/County Road 10 project in Maple Grove.

Along with the spring weather, construction season has started on Bass Lake Road in Maple Grove.

Road improvement work on the heavily traveled road started Monday, March 26.

“The next couple of weeks will introduce some new traffic shifts at both Lawndale Lane and Nottingham Parkway,” Maple Grove Project Manager Marc Culver said in an email bulletin to residents March 28. “ Please be cautious and be prepared for new traffic alignments, especially next week.”

According to the city of Maple Grove website, here’s some of the planned work commuters and residents can expect as the project progresses this year:

  • Significant activity at the intersections of Lawndale Lane and Nottingham Parkway for the next few weeks as signal systems are modified.
  • At Lawndale Lane, traffic will be moved back to old Bass Lake Road on the east of Lawndale Lane. Traffic will be moved back to the new alignment of Bass Lake Road in June.
  • At Nottingham Parkway, traffic will be moved to the north side of Bass Lake Road.  “For the first couple of weeks after this occurs, there will be no left turn lane for eastbound Bass Lake Road to turn left onto northbound Nottingham Pkwy,” according to the city’s website. “We are looking into prohibiting eastbound left turns in the AM peak hour to prevent problems with queuing at this intersection.
  • Saturday, April 14 - Nottingham Parkway will be closed on the south side of Bass Lake Road for one day. Motorists will have to access the area by traveling on Vicksburg Lane during the closure.
  • Saturday, April 21 - Peony Lane will be closed on the south side of Bass Lake Road for one day.  Motorists can access the area by Lawndale Lane North or County Road 101.
