Bass Lake Road Project Spared from Shutdown

Work continues on the roadway reconstruction project July 5.

Despite a state government shutdown, construction will continue as usual on the Bass Lake Road reconstruction project.

Earlier reports from city officials in Maple Grove and the Minnesota Department of Transportation before the shutdown indicated the Bass Lake Road construction project would be halted post shutdown due to federal funding.

The city informed residents in an e-newsletter July 1 that the Bass Lake Road project is moving forward as planned and “is not being suspended due to the state government shutdown.” The newsletter said the city project is able to continue because it is being “administered” by the city of Maple Grove and not MnDOT and does not involve state right-of-way like Highway 610.
