Above Average Rainfall Hinders Bass Lake Road Project in Maple Grove

City of Maple Grove gives update and next steps on the project

Activity for the Bass Lake Road (County Road 10) project slowed down the week of June 20 as above average rainfall “hindered the project schedule,” according to a Maple Grove e-newsletter June 22.

If the site dries out over the weekend, the roadway could see additional construction activities starting up the week of June 27.

The next construction activities include, according to the city of Maple Grove:

  • Installation of a water main along the new Bass Lake Road alignment, east of Lawndale
  • Excavation of “poor materials” around Elm Creek and placement of fill
  • Excavation for roadway subgrade west of Peony Lane
  • Rough grading of future trail on the south side of Bass Lake Road between Nottingham Parkway to Vicksburg Lane. The city anticipates there will be “significant construction activity” on the south side near the townhomes east of Nottingham Parkway and is urging residents to “be cautious and stay outside of the orange fencing blocking off the construction site.”

As construction continues in the Bass Lake Road area, the speed limit has been reduced to 35 miles per hour in the area where crews are working.  

If roadway construction continues and a doesn’t occur, crews will likely be installing some utility crossings across Lawndale Lane on the south side of Bass Lake Road the week of July 5.  Weather permitting, a traffic shift might also take place the week of July 5 through the Nottingham Parkway signal.
