Woman Shot at Maple Grove Apartment

An 18-year-old woman is currently being treated for what appears to be nonlife-threatening injuries from a single gunshot wound.

A woman was shot Sunday night in Maple Grove, at an apartment located at 13301 Maple Knoll Way. 

A neighbor called police and reported that a woman was bleeding in the hallway at Mallard Ridge as a result of a possible domestic assault. 

Police found an 18-year-old woman with a gun shot wound on the left side of her neck and a significant loss of blood. Both victim and suspect were on the scene, according to reports. The victim is currently being treated for what appears to be nonlife-threatening injuries, according to Maple Grove Police.

A 22-year-old adult male was taken into custody without incident at the scene and is being held at the Hennepin County Adult Detention Facility for probable cause reckless discharge of a firearm.

This is currently an active investigation. No other suspects are being sought at this time and the public is not at risk, according to police.
