Charges: Park Center HS Athletic Director Stole Ticket Money

Prosecutors say Larry Lawler, fired in April, took more than $3,500 after basketball, gymnastics, swimming and wrestling events, according to Channel 12 and the Sun Post.

The former activities coordinator at Park Center High School faces a criminal complaint charging him with theft, according to Channel 12 and the Sun Post. 

The Sun Post reported: 

"The 53-year-old Plymouth resident is accused of stealing more than $3,500 in ticket revenue since January. He is charged with one count of theft by swindle over $1,000. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

"Osseo Area Schools fired Lawler April 29. He had worked for the district since July 1, 2005, nearly eight years. His salary was $106,432 plus benefits."

According to a Channel 12 report at Twelve.tv

"The complaint says school officials found discrepancies in ticket sales from 14 basketball games, as well as gymnastics, swimming and wrestling events.

"During the investigation, it was also revealed that Lawler never obtained a teaching license, a requirement for the athletic director job."
