Maple Grove Wins Top Honors for National Night Out

Maple Grove improved from bronze in 2012 to gold this year for cities ranging from 50,000 to 99,000 residents nationally.

The Maple Grove Police Department thanks Maple Grove residents for their participation in National Night Out, earning the city top national honors.

From the Maple Grove Police Department Facebook page: "You did it! Your participation in National Night Out 2013 earned the City of Maple Grove 1st place honors (NATIONALLY) in our population category from National Night Out!

"Thank you again for coming out to the Kick Off picnic and for all of your GREAT block parties -- despite the weather!! A huge shout out goes to all of our block captains - THANK YOU!!"

Maple Grove is in a category of cities with a population of 50,000 to 99,000. 

In 2012, National Night Out activities throughout Maple Grove earned the city the third place national award

National Night Out is an annual event in August designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
