Maple Grove Police Blotter: Department Store Reports Two Same Day Thefts

Kohl's Department Store, located on the 8000 block of Wedgewood Lane, reported two incidents of clothing theft on May 23 involving separate suspects. No arrests have been made in either incident, according to the Maple Grove Police Department.

May 20

  • Theft on the 8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of four cell phones stolen from store.
  • Theft on the18200 block of 80th Avenue. Report of lumber stolen from construction site.
  • Theft from auto on the 9400 block of Garland Lane. Report of vehicle broken into and purse and work bag stolen.
  • Theft on the 7000 block of Magda Drive. Report of two bikes stolen from storage area of apartment building.

  • Theft on the 13300 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of vehicle leaving station without paying for gas.
  • Damage to property on the 18100 block of 70th Place. Report of two mailboxes taken off posts and left on ground.
  • Theft on the 13700 block of 89th Avenue. Report of bike stolen in front of school.

 May 23

  • Burglary on the 7100 block of Shadyview Lane. Report of iPod Touch stolen from unlocked vehicle in open garage.
  • Theft on the 8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of $64 worth of clothing stolen from Kohl’s Department store. Suspects reportedly fled in vehicle.
  • Theft on the 8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of female leaving Kohl’s Department store with a bundle of clothes on hangars.
  • Theft on the 17500 block of 75th Avenue. Report of theft of several copper components from house under construction.
  • Burglary on the 9000 block of Zachary Lane. Report of business entered over the weekend and 55-inch LCD television stolen.

  • Theft from auto on the 12600 block of 82nd Avenue. Report of vehicle broken into and attempt to steal GPS unit.

 May 25

  • Theft on the 12200 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of approximately $750 worth of merchandise shoplifted from Bath & Body Works. No arrests have been made.
  • Theft from auto on the 9800 block of Hospital Drive. Report of vehicle broken into and purse stolen.

 There were also 13 medical incidents, 21 property damage incidents and one personal injury traffic accident reported May 20 through May 26.

In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents generally appear in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred.
