Maple Grove, Osseo Fire Departments Assist at Industrial Fire in Brooklyn Park

The fire happened at Modern Manufacturing & Engineering Monday, March 18.

An industrial fire at Modern Manufacturing & Engineering in Brooklyn Park resulted in mutual aid from area fire departments – including Maple Grove and Osseo.

The Brooklyn Park Fire Department initially responded to the report of a fire around 9:30 p.m. on the 9300 block of Winnetka Avenue, according to Twin Cities Fire Wire. It was more than two hours before crews were able to clear the scene.

“Employees first reported that there was magnesium on fire and another reported possible chemicals involved,” Assistant Chief Todd Seitz told Twin Cities Fire Wire, who later said the fire “turned out to be in a waste oil burner that caught fire.”
