Maple Grove Mother Pleads Guilty to Drug Charge
Rebecca Rachelle Hill pleaded guilty to a second-degree drug charge, according to an announcement from Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman.
A Maple Grove mother has pleaded guilty to a second-degree drug charge in which “she gave her 12-year-old daughter heroin,” according to Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman.
Rebecca Rachelle Hill, who was reportedly living out of her vehicle, pleaded guilty to second-degree controlled substance crime. Charges of child endangerment, motor vehicle theft and false information to police will be dropped, according to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 12.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the Macy’s store at the Mall of America because store security had caught Hill and her daughter stealing clothes.Hill was arrested by Bloomington Police on an outstanding warrant and her daughter was allowed to leave with her grandmother. The following date, the child’s father reportedly called police and took his daughter to the hospital since she was suffering from withdrawal. She had reportedly told her father Hill had given her marijuana and heroin regularly for three weeks.
According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, the youth has gone through drug withdrawal, has been discharged from the hospital and continuing treatment while living with her father and stepmother.
