Maple Grove Fire Blotter: Lightning Trips Alarm System

A weekly report of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Fire Department, including response to an alarm tripped by heavy lightning.

The following are incidents responded to by the  from June 11 to June 17, as provided by the Maple Grove Fire Department.

June 11

  • 13000 block of 82nd Avenue North, report of a strange odor.

June 12

  • 7000 block of Zinnia Way North, gas leak.
  • 9000 block of Jefferson Highway, smoke detector activation, no fire.

June 13

  • 1000 block of 86th Avenue North, unintentional alarm system activation, no fire.
  • 9000 block of 85th Avenue North, odor/ smell of gas.
  • 17000 block of 80th Place North, unintentional alarm system activation, no fire.

June 14

  • Detector activation, no fire.
  • 8000 block of Monticella Lane North, lightning strike. Several fire alarm zones had been tripped on alarm system. No fire.
  • County Road 30 and Yucca Lane North, assist police.

June 15

  • 9000 block of Kimberly Lane North, gas leak.
  • 1100 block of Main Street North, good intent call.
  • Arbor Lakes Parkway and Hemlock Lane, fire out report.
  • Interstate 94 and 101st Avenue, vehicle accident and clean up.

June 16

  • 1700 block of 91st Avenue North, testing alarm system activation. No fire.
  • Elm Creek Boulevard and Zachary Lane, assist police.
  • 12000 block of 93rd Place North, unintentional alarm system activation, no fire.

June 17

  • 7000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard, alarm system sounded due to malfunction.
  • 6000 block of Wedgewood Road North, overheated motor.
  • 7000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard, alarm system sounded due to malfunction.
  • 12000 block of 54th Avenue, building fire in Plymouth. Assisted Plymouth Fire Department. Fire extinguished with pump and cans.
