Maple Grove Fire Blotter: Contractor Cuts Gas Line

A weekly report of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Fire Department, including a fire at Maple Grove Junior High and leaking propane tank.

A report of a possible gas leak on the 6500 block of Ives Lane North prompted a call to the on Nov. 29. According to the incident report, a contractor was replacing siding at the residence when the gas line was cut between the meter and house.

The fire department also at Maple Grove Junior High on the 7000 block of Hemlock Lane on Dec. 1 that was a result of a flash fire during a science class demonstration.

A leaking propane prompted a call of an outside equipment fire on the 7600 block of Mariner Place North on Dec. 1.

This, and other incidents, appeared on the weekly report provided by the Maple Grove Fire Department for the week of Nov. 28 through Dec. 4 including six smoke/odor related calls, six calls which were determined to be an false alarm or malfunction, two gas leaks, one carbon monoxide incident, one water evacuation, one unauthorized burning incident, a mutual assistance call to Brooklyn Park and two EMS calls.
