Lost Cat, Gas Leaks and Grass Fire: Maple Grove Fire Blotter

A weekly report of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Fire Department.

For the week of May 14 through May 20, there were 25 incidents appearing on the Maple Grove Fire Department incident list.

Here are a few of the incidents reported and responded by the :

May 14

  • 13400 block of Maple Knoll Way for an EMS call.
  • 89th Avenue North and Zachary Lane North for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
  • 12400 block of James Deane Parkway for a report of a grass fire which was actually smoldering wood chips.
  • Fair Way and Jefferson Highway to extrication of injured victim from vehicle following vehicle accident.
  • 8100 block of Everest Lane North for a report of a gas leak from a leaking residential propane cylinder.

May 15

  • 11000 block of 108th Avenue North for a report of a gas leak due to homeowner reportedly striking gas line leading to barbecue grill.
  • Interstate 694 for a report passenger vehicle fire.
  • 16800 block of 90th Court on report of wild land fire which was due to smoldering mulch next to home. 
  • Interstate 94 on a report of a passenger vehicle fire at the rest stop.No fire remained when fire department arrived, but vehicle too damaged to drive.

May 16

  • 12600 block of Elm Creek Boulevard for fire alarm at restaurant which was a result of cooking equipment not located under hood system.
  • 12000 block of Robin Road for an animal rescue. Individual walked into fire station looking for assistance with finding a cat suspected to have gotten into ceiling or wall space in his home. No cat was found.
  • 13700 block of 89th Avenue North. Smoke detector activation due to malfunction.

May 18

  • Entrance ramp from Bass Lake Road for a report of steam, vapor, fog or dust thought to be smoke
  • 85th Avenue North and Zachary Lane North due to a natural gas line leaking at construction site.   
  • Elm Creek Blvd and Jefferson Highway for report of chemical spill or leak.
  • 12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard on a report of a grass fire.
  • Interstate 94 for a report of a freight or transport vehicle fire
  • 9800 block of 69th Avenue North for removal of victim(s) from stalled elevator.
  • 16900 block of 72nd Place North for a cooking fire report.

May 19

  • 1300 block of Ives Lane North to assist with Plymouth building fire.

May 20

  • 7800 block of Troy Lane North for a report of steam, vapor, fog or dust thought to be smoke.
