How to Lead Police Right to You

The Burger King robber offered some clues that didn't exactly require the sleuthing skills of Sherlock Holmes.

Douglas Gravelle Jr. wasn’t trying to lead police to his home, but he wasn’t doing the best job of keeping his head down either.

Gravelle—who’s suspected in a string of fast food restaurant heists—came to officers’ attention Wednesday when he showed up for a child support hearing wearing the same clothes as the suspect in surveillance photos, the St. Cloud Times reported. He also offered to use cash to pay the child support he owned—even though he didn’t have a job.

His ex-wife noticed the similarities between Gravelle’s clothes and the robber’s—and that he was driving an SUV similar to one used in the robbery of a Maple Grove Burger King. She tipped off police Thursday, and they found items in his home matching property stolen during the robberies.
