Cooking Fire, Water Problem Activates Alarm: Maple Grove Fire Blotter

The Maple Grove Fire Department also responded to a medical incident.

The following are incidents were responded to by the Maple Grove Fire Department from April 15-21, 2013. Details provided by the fire department.

April 15

  • 6300 block of Vinewood Lane North. Burnt food. 

April 16

  • 12000 block of 80th Avenue North. Medical assist. 
  • 10000 block of 108th Avenue North. Burnt food. 

April 18

  • In pond near Bass Lake Road. Good intent call.

April 21

  • 17000 block of 79th Avenue North. Cooking fire, confined to container. Homeowner called 911 to report small fire in oven. Door is shut and flames inside. Police arrived on scene before fire, opened oven door and shot ABC fire extinguisher into oven. Fire opened windows to ventilate smoke and fire extinguisher residue. 
  • 7600 block of Everest Lane North. Water problem. Fire alarm sounding in home. Found water dripping out of smoke detector. Disconnected detector and shut off water in home to control leak.

There were also four incidents of false or malfunctioning alarms.
