Assist with Corcoran Building Fire, Burnt Food: Maple Grove Fire Blotter

The Maple Grove Fire Department also responded a report of a smoke smell.

The following are incidents were responded to by the Maple Grove Fire Department from April 8-14, 2013. Details provided by the fire department

April 8

  • 98th Avenue North and Zachary Lane North. Steam, vapor, fog or dust thought to be smoke. 
  • 13400 block of Bass Lake Road. Smoke or odor removal.

April 9

  • 20050 block of 75th Avenue. Corcoran building fire. Mutual aid assist to Hamel/Loretto for building fire. Initially called for one engine. Upgraded to an aerial platform and the air truck.
  • 6500 block of Balsam Lane North. Public service. Homeowner called to have home checked for CO. Checked residence with four-gas monitor and found nothing in the home. Checked around gas furnace, gas water heater, and gas stove and found nothing.

April 10 

  • East of I-94 at 101st Avenue. Authorized controlled burning.

April 13

  • 15399 76th Avenue North. Burnt food. Dispatched by ADT for fire alarm, was smoke from burnt food.

April 14

  • 11080 block of Pheasant Lane North. Smoke scare, odor of smoke 
  • 12900 block of 63rd Ave North. Burnt food. Central Station reported a fire alarm at Extended Stay America, was caused by smoke from burned food in room - they opened doorway to hall and smoke set off alarms.
