Update: Accident on Hemlock Lane Slows Evening Commute in Maple Grove

Two vehicles were involved in the accident that happened at the intersection of 73rd Avenue North and Hemlock Lane Tuesday, Nov. 20. One person was sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

An evening commute down Hemlock Lane North in Maple Grove became longer Tuesday after an accident backed up northbound traffic.

The accident appeared to have happened around 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 between two vehicles at the intersection of 73rd Avenue North and Hemlock Lane, near BP and Perkins. It is currently unknown whether there were any injuries. 

As of 5:30 p.m., Maple Grove Police were on the scene of the accident along with tow truck. Northbound traffic was backed up to 62nd Place while the accident scene was being cleared.

According to Maple Grove Police Captain Keith Terlinden, officers responded to a two vehicle accident at 73rd Avenue North and Hemlock Lane at 4:49. Each vehicle had a driver, no passengers. 

"Driver of one of the vehicle was transported for minor–not life threatening injuries," Terlinden wrote in an email to Patch. 

The accident is still under investigation, but it "does not appear alcohol is factor", according to Terlinden.
