Getting Ready for 2013!

Are you ready for what God might do in your life this year of 2013?

Getting Ready for 2013!

The other day our son slowed down for a time, turned to me and asked, “So, Dad, what are your goals for this year?”  A bit stunned at the enormity of the question from our 17 yr. old, I paused for a moment.  “Well, I want to increase the number of days I work out from 3-4, read more novels, and spend more time with you.”  The goals seem to come to mind rather quickly.

Of course, the real question is how these goals will be accomplished.  Will I be focused on pursuing these goals and assessing how I am doing with these goals throughout the year.

What are your goals for the year?  If you pause for a moment, what would be put on your short list of goals?  And, most importantly, how will you accomplish these goals?

If we turn things around for a moment, we might pause to ask what God might have in store for our lives this year.  You might take a look inside yourself to your faith in Christ to measure or assess how open you are to what God might do in your life, family, and work this year. There is no question that God will be working on you in the power of the Holy Spirit throughout this year.

The author Chuck Swindoll  once said that 10% of life is what happens to you- 90% of life is how you respond.  This year anticipate what kind of responses you will call on when you face the joys and challenges of the year.

As you move into this year of 2013 my hope and prayer for you is that our Lord will amaze you, challenge you, surprise you, and delight you.

Peace!
